Mac problems
During the production of our video using the mac book at school the laptop we had was consistently rebooting before we could save the work meaning we had to redo a few scenes and even start the entire project again when it failed to boot the hard drive with our data on it. It also had a few faults within the programs its self that wouldn't allow us to add a few effects we wanted to add into the video which resulted in the lower quality of resolution of the video as we found it was the only method to play the video without the entire screen going completely black through playback and even on YouTube there is a notable difference between the draft video and the final video.

CD design for digipac
Making this on Photoshop was relatively easy as after morphing the image into the shape I required I simply selected a circle in the middle with the selection tool then used a invent selection tool to remove the hole in the middle for the CD case holder to sit in.

Photo rights and Merges
So of the images I wanted to create I couldn't make entirely from scratch so I recycled old photos that I could edit and merge with new images I took to create the designs I needed for my project such as my album artwork cover on the digipak and the track list artwork these are examples of merges of various pictures to create the desired designs I had planned in my storyboards.

sharing images within group
In our group we decided to share our images for our auxiliary tasks as all our ideas were very similar but we all used different editorial techniques and all made unique adjustments to the pictures on Photoshop.

Front cover digipac
These is the actual final front page pf the digipak I decided to create in the end after reviewing my storyboard plans, I used a merge of two images with the skew effect on the band portrait to create the illusion of the band on the floating billboard.

front cover draft
Initially I was just going to keep the album cover basic and simple similar to other bands I researched in the genre such as these below.

shooting plan
These are my storyboards where we planned out as a group what shots we need to do and in what order to do them. We also listed out how many seconds each clip would be filmed so that i knew that it would all fit in with the song and the various camera angles we used were also listed on this storyboard.

Outfits Options
Band member 1 Outfit Ideas
This would be the outfit in the band go with a formal dress code rather than the informal outfit below. The formal outfit consists of the formal shirt and trousers then the v-neck jumper on top. The informal outfit below consists of a printed t-shirt and then a simple pair of denim jeans.
We decided to go with the formal look in order to connect more with our audience which we found to be the middle aged males and females so the more formal sophisticated look would appeal more to their tastes.

Research
This is an example of a music video from the same genre of music this made me believe the video has been created for an identical audience to that of which my video will to created for. Although from my research I discovered that pop rock music has'nt normally got a specific auidence group to target as its quiet generic just as conventional pop music is generic meaning most person generally enjoy it so maintaining simular attributes to other videos from bands and acts in this genre should ensure our video satisfies the blanet specifications of pop rock.
This video consists of cheerful settings and dance screens that support the beat of the song, The artists and actors have all been given suitable costumes for the scenarios. This particular video does not narrate an actual story or give a message but instead conveys a jubilent feeling of expressive dance. The director uses a variety of shots but the most common shot in the video is the wide shot focusing on the dancers in the video, There are a few close up shots of the artist showing the lip sync which is a technique we will be using in our video. As we have found it isnt neccessary to have a total lip sync video as it becomes difficult to narrate us story its far more beneficial to have the verses narrated by our story and then have the band lip sync during the chrous segments of the song.
Research On Outfits
Take That normally wear more formal outfits than One Direction and other bands that target people of the younger generation, this is because they target the more mature audience of middle aged women and mature adults so in order to relate to them them must wear more age appropriate outfits to appeal to the more mature audience. The band in our video would have a similar auidence as Take That so I as a group decided to dress the band in formal outlifts but we decided to give them individuality simular to that of One direction who never really wear identical outfits allowing the audience to pick a band member they relate to the most.
Research On Outfits
In order to keep our video within the conventions of the genre I have looked at more than one other bands work to determine the style of of group such as clothing, performance techinques and also the genre social genre they may fall into eg. punk, rock or hipster.
One Direction are a pop group we can tell this from their outfits there are always conforming to current trends in fashion. They know their target audience is commonly young girls and young adults so in order to relate to their audience they wear similar outfits to their audience.

Location1
The majority of the scenes in our video were filmed here at the london zoo in london regents park. Ideally we would have taken mor than one day of filming to get the best possible shoots but due to the costs of entry it worked out better to shoot the whole zoo date scenes in one day.

One direction- What makes you beautiful
This is my practice music video task which we did to prepare for the final project and familiarize ourselves with iMovie and using the cameras. In order to make this video we had to consider the audience to the song and then through mise en scene convey the narrative video to the audience. In the video the band are seen to be strolling through a countryside lane after having a muck around in the park, these are all joyful fun scenes to compliment the upbeat song.
Ideology behind video
From my understanding of the lyrics of the song its telling a story of young love and people growing up together wishing they can continue to grow together. It is a joyful song that We are going to narrate from a couples perspective looking back at their younger days they spent together. The main feature of the video will be a good out to the zoo the couple went to as one of their earliest dates.

Original Song and Lyrics
"Wouldn't It Be Nice"
Wouldn't it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong
You know its gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together
Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through
Happy times together we've been spending
I wish that every kiss was neverending
Wouldn't it be nice
Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true
Baby then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do
We could be married
And then we'd be happy
Wouldn't it be nice
You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Wouldn't it be nice
Good night my baby
Sleep tight my baby

Research on Genre
The beach boys are a pop rock band that started creating their music during the early 60s, they are also classed as a surf band hence the name the beach boys. The characteristics of this genre of music include a more upbeat tempo in comparison to conventional rock according to the R Middleton in Studying popular music one of his studies carried out in the early 90s. Pop rock is a mix of the conventions of popular music light lyrical and catchy rhythms with a high concentration of guitar usage simular to conventional rock. Examples modern pop rock bands includes Maaron 5, Scouting for Girls and before them bands like The beach boys and The cranberries.

Genre music video moodboard
I made this mood board to aid my creatively during the brainstorm phrase of our project I constructed this in order to understand exactly what the genre of pop rock was all about and it also gave me an idea of where to start the actual research after looking and discovering which bands were in this genres and how they target their audience this would become useful to us in the planning of the video and promotion pack.

Brainstorm
In our group we decided to make a mind map in order to allow us to visualise our ideas then after from the ideas listed we could start to biuld the plot of the music video and start choosing locations to shoot the scenes and the actors we are gonna use. In order to mae it easier to see who was contributing which ideas in our group we all used different colur pens to note our ideas.
Sophie used the pink pen
Ricky used the green pen
Maxwell used the blue pen
We all developed some good ideas but then we used a purple pen to circle our favourite ideas and the ideas we are most likely to use for the project. Our ideas where mostly of filming different stages of a relationship which worked well with the song choice. We decided to make the video seem as if it was a
